For n8n builders & workflow engineers

n8n is a named skill in our application Self-hosted automation · webhook & API glue · audit-trailed workflows

n8n builders: real client work, no bidding.

You build workflows properly — versioned, self-hosted where it matters, connected with webhooks and APIs instead of hope. We send you clients who've already paid $1,500 for an assessment. Their written report — ProcessScout calls it a Trail Map — maps the brittle mess you'd be replacing, with a budget attached.

The problem

Gig boards don't buy engineering.

The clients who most need solid workflows don't know how to ask for them. Four ways that hurts you:

01

Clients search for tools, not skill.

They post “connect our CRM to QuickBooks”, hire the cheapest bid, and it breaks a year later. The rescue job never finds you.

02

You untangle messes for free.

Undocumented Zaps. Spreadsheet cron jobs. A webhook from an ex-contractor. On gig boards, mapping that mess is unpaid work — and nobody measured what it costs.

03

Careful engineering looks expensive.

Error handling, retries, credential hygiene, audit trails — the client can't see any of it in a proposal. Your quote just looks like the same job at triple the price.

04

Nobody makes the case for self-hosting.

Owning your data and your costs is a real advantage. On a gig board, there's no one to explain that before the race to the cheapest price starts.

The work

What work we'd send you.

Our clients are small businesses — 10 to 49 people, usually QuickBooks plus a CRM and a drawer of half-connected tools. Example: the report says a chain of Zaps and spreadsheets fails weekly and wastes $30k a year. Budget $12–18k to rebuild it properly. That job comes to you.

What the client's report found, the job it becomes for you, and what you'd know before quoting.
What the report found The job you'd get What you'd know before quoting
A chain of Zaps and spreadsheets nobody dares touchRebuild it as clean, versioned workflows — self-hosted where it fitsThe chain mapped, the failure points listed, the cost of breakage in dollars
CRM and accounting drifting out of syncBuild a proper sync with error alertsThe fields mapped, the volumes counted, the drift costed
Approvals and notifications lost in inboxesBuild approval workflows with a real audit trailHow long approvals take today, measured
Quote-to-cash held together by copy-pasteConnect the systems they already own with webhooks and APIsEvery step named, the manual hours counted

Examples, not live jobs. What we send you depends on what client reports find.

Before you meet the client

The archaeology is done before you arrive.

Every client paid $1,500 for an assessment first. A human analyst signed the report. The mess you'd normally dig through for free is already mapped and measured.

  • You know which facts are solid. Every claim in the report is marked high, medium or low confidence.
  • The cost of the mess is in dollars. The value of doing it properly is already on the table.
  • The work is ranked, and there's a written skip list — your defence against “while you're in there, can you also…”.
  • There's a 90-day plan. Your build lands inside it, not as an orphan experiment.
  • Results get checked at 30 and 90 days. Reliable work gets measured — and gets you more introductions.

Questions workflow engineers ask

Frequently asked

Is n8n a recognised skill here, or just lumped in with “automation”?

Recognised. n8n and workflow engineering is a named skill in the application, so workflow jobs get routed to workflow builders. We review real builds — error handling, credentials, versioning, handover. n8n is its owner's trademark — we're independent.

Will clients accept self-hosted setups?

Where it fits, yes. The report documents their systems, data and constraints, so hosting becomes a design decision you agree with the client — costs and ownership in the open. We don't force any deployment model.

What do you charge?

10% on clients we send you, dropping to 5% after $25,000 with the same client. Clients you find yourself: 0%, always. Joining and the software are free. We don't promise a volume of work.
